GAMING AGENT

POSITION SUMMARY: Inspects, regulates and monitors the gaming operation for compliance with all requirements of the IGRA, Compact, Gaming Ordinance, Regulations, Casino Internal Control Systems, and the NIGC MICS. Position requires working holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision of the Surveillance Manager, the Gaming Agent will:

  • Conduct compliance checks, monitor slot machine and EPROM chip compliance, and conduct inspections of special areas.
  • Test and verify computer EPROM chips.
  • Write reports and conduct investigations.
  • Perform unannounced inspections of all areas of the casino operation.
  • Conduct random testing/auditing of internal control systems.
  • Observe and monitor control chip changes and prepare appropriate reports.
  • Examine, test and inspect gaming equipment.
  • Conduct interviews of patron disputes and complaints.
  • Monitor gaming activities, investigate criminal violations/activities.
  • Conduct MICS compliance audits, as assigned by the Internal Auditor.
  • Work closely with security, surveillance, slots and other departments as needed.
  • Operate surveillance monitoring equipment.
  • Observe and report potential violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of Federal, State, Tribal and other applicable gaming laws and/or regulations is desired, along with working
knowledge of surveillance equipment and surveillance techniques, slot machines, table games/card games, craps and roulette. Also important is the ability to: interact with a diverse group of people in a professional manner; operate a two-way radio, surveillance equipment, computers, and relate software; prepare and maintain reports and documentation necessary for monitoring regulatory functions; communicate effectively orally and in writing; stand and walk for long periods of time; and work independently.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a State and Tribal Gaming License.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background/fingerprint check.

SURVEILLANCE OBSERVER
DEPARTMENT: Surveillance Department
SUPERVISED BY: Lead Surveillance Observer
DAYS/HOURS: Shift Work
SALARY: DOE/Hourly Position

POSITION SUMMARY: This position will ensure adherence with all regulatory requirements through observations via the surveillance CCTV System.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be under general supervision of the Surveillance Shift Supervisor.  The Surveillance Observer will:

  • Observe and report on all areas under surveillance, and assure compliance with in-house policies/procedures and internal control standards.
  • Assure compliance with N.I.G.C. standards and Gaming Commission regulations.
  • Identify cheating activities, undesirables, theft fraud and embezzlement.
  • Report and properly document all infractions and or criminal activity immediately to Shift Supervisor.
  • Observe, report, and record Casino activity through the utilization of CCTV equipment.
  • Perform special functions as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Surveillance Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions is desired, along with the ability to:
Perform simple math calculations; grasp new concepts and to learn new procedures as necessary; operate a keyboard, telephone and radio; sit for long periods of time, watch a video monitor and work in a confined setting; communicate effectively orally and in writing; work in an environment that contains excessive noise, stress and smoke; learn all aspects of asset protection and casino operations, including all table games; exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and taking effective action.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least one year of casino surveillance experience in a Class III casino with table games, poker, coin/video slots or two years experience as a Table Games Floor Supervisor. 
  • Applicant must also have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a State and Tribal Gaming License.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background/fingerprint check.
